Enetsky is looking for VSAT Field Engineers in Africa.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Provide support to Enetsky stations in physically remote locations. VSAT earth stations nevertheless have to perform critical communication tasks and as such down time has to be minimized. In the event that a physical visit to the site becomes necessary, such a visit by a technician has to resolve the issue in as short a time as possible. The Enetsky is looking for competent field engineers that are in close proximity to our customer sites.
TASKS:
• Performs site survey prior to installation
• Installs, tests, and repairs antennas and related equipment following specifications and using hand tools and test instruments.
Reviews installation specifications to determine installation site for antenna.
• Visually inspects installation site to identify obstructions that could distort or block signals from satellite.
• Discusses requirements with customer
• Installs BNC and LNB
• Orients antenna to direction and altitude of communication satellite, using surveying instruments and following charts of satellite position.
• Solders connections to electronic controls, using soldering gun and wire cutters.
• Connects antenna to signal converter control box, using hand tools.
• Tests installed system for conformance to specifications, using test equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscope
• Performs Civil Works installations if required for the antenna set-up
• Replaces or repairs defective parts, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Coordinate and execute VSAT installation and configuration tasks.
• Deploy and troubleshoot all types of equipment at customers’ site.
• Ensure continuous operation of network elements.
• Monitor links and quality of signal
• Provide quality support for customers and respond to customer enquiries/complaints.
• Open tickets to track and to document resolution of problems for VSAT networks
Job requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of VSAT experience with good references
• GVF Certification or equivalent VSAT Certifications (Certificates to be provided)

Enetsky is currently seeking a Telecommunication Administrator to join our project team onsite with our client in Africa.
Position Summary: This full-time, contract position will send and receive phone calls from clients and customers, answer multiple incoming calls, and direct calls to correct team, organizations, and people. The position will also prioritize calls for importance and urgency as well as provide routine technical assistance and training to users and assisting Voice & Video technical staff with basic equipment maintenance and documentation. Position Responsibilities include: Answer main telephones to advance and complete connections. Direct phone calls to the designated department or person and provide customer assistance regarding directory questions or concerns.
Take and relay messages as necessary. Average monthly call volume is more than 3000 calls. Assist customers in making telephone calls.
Provide customers with… area codes, telephone numbers and other information, when applicable. Provide addresses and directions to traveling or lost Employees throughout Africa & USA.
Respond to customer requests via live calls, voicemail messages, and email for both Africa and USA Vancouver Voice & Video department trouble desks. Answer routine questions and resolve technical inquiries including troubleshooting of telephone and voicemail system user issues, such as poor voice quality, connection problems, forgotten PINs, etc., escalating to technical staff when necessary. Provide information to users on Cisco IP telephone features and abilities, including basic over the phone training, such as button identification, call forwarding procedures and options, accessing voicemail messages, changing PINs, ring options, etc.
Triage Headset/Handset problems and repair or distribute to technicians as needed. Resolve employee call forwarding issues when attempting to complete connections, such as forwarding to the wrong number. Provide information obtained from a variety of sources to field questions from the public regarding departments, phone numbers, operational hours, etc.
Respond to emails in Portland and Vancouver Voice & Video department’s email boxes as needed. Maintain documentation files for over ISAT, including spreadsheets, signature files, and daily usage reports, updating spreadsheets and signature files when necessary. Maintain “Features & Abilities” documentation for four different conference bridge systems.
These are provided to users when reserving these services. Schedule, update and troubleshoot teleconference bridges. Draft Client Informational Documentation for distribution to all users, including telephone and voice mail system operating procedures, end user manuals and reference guides, for final approval from Team Lead or Manager.
Draft articles and Announcements for IT Communications and/or client’s Connection for final approval from Team Lead or Manager. Work with technicians on new/needed content in Voice and Video SharePoint Page. Convert “Tech Talk” into “Layman’s English”.
Recommend and update FAQ’s based on emails and calls received and client training calls. Assist Voice & Video technicians with restacks and moves of telecom equipment, as needed, including installing phones at client desks. Perform database input for the creation of Cisco IP Phone and Unity Connection installation batch files.
Analyze data for accuracy. Provide technical assistance to telephone staff regarding telecom troubles, including end user training. Assemble, clean, change, and label telephone sets.
Update Phone Book information. This includes Substation listings, employee phone numbers, common (AKA) names, Frequently Called List, Key Words List, DATS phone number listings, IP Phone numbers, and name changes. Develop and update Telephone Operator’s operating procedures as required.
Maintain filing system(s), files, emails.
